Add year-round structure to your garden with living topiary trees and shaped plants. Explore statement spiral conifers, colourful lollipop trees and sculptural cloud-pruned olive trees for entrances, patios, courtyards and garden borders. Choose a single architectural focal point or use a matching pair to create a more formal arrangement. Our collection includes established evergreen plants in distinctive, professionally trained shapes, available for delivery across the UK.
Topiary trees are living trees and shrubs that have been trained and clipped into a defined ornamental shape. They provide immediate height, structure and year-round interest without requiring you to establish the initial shape yourself.
Our range includes spiral, lollipop and cloud-pruned forms. Each creates a different effect, so your choice should be guided by the available space, planting position and style of your garden.
Spiral trees create a strong vertical feature and work particularly well beside entrances, along paths or as matching plants on either side of a doorway.
The Golden Leylandii Gold Rider Spiral combines a distinctive spiral form with golden evergreen foliage. For a deeper green alternative, consider the large Thuja Smaragd Spiral.
Both are conifer topiary trees. Browse our wider range of conifers if screening or natural upright growth is more important than a clipped ornamental shape.
Lollipop trees have a clear stem supporting a rounded crown. This form adds height without creating dense foliage at ground level, making it useful around patios, paths, entrances and smaller planting areas.
The Photinia Red Robin Lollipop provides evergreen foliage with bright red new growth. The Lollipop Olive Tree offers silvery-green foliage and a more Mediterranean appearance.
Cloud pruning produces separate rounded sections of foliage along the branches, creating a sculptural feature with a less formal appearance than a spiral.
Our Cloud Olive Tree XL is trained into a distinctive architectural form and works well as a focal point in a patio, courtyard, driveway or landscaped border. You can also explore the complete olive tree collection.
Many topiary trees can be grown in sufficiently large containers with drainage holes. The container should provide enough room for the rootball and must not remain waterlogged.
Container-grown plants usually require more frequent moisture checks than plants growing in the ground. Position the pot securely, particularly when displaying taller topiary in exposed areas, and follow the planting and aftercare instructions supplied with the individual product.
Topiary trees need periodic light trimming to retain their defined shape. The frequency depends on the species and its growth rate; faster-growing plants may need more attention than slower-growing specimens.
Lightly trim new growth after the main growth flush, removing small amounts at a time to preserve the established outline. Keep newly planted trees watered while their roots establish and check container-grown plants regularly during warm or dry weather.
Always read the individual product information before pruning, because the appropriate timing and technique can vary between conifers, Photinia and olive trees.

Before ordering, check the supplied height, overall spread, preferred planting conditions and space required for future growth. Because trained plants can vary naturally in outline and appearance, review the individual product page for the most relevant size and product information.
