Laurel Hedging – Prunus laurocerasus Rotundifolia is valued for being able to grow strong green hedges with and requiring little upkeep. This type of hedge plant can be successful in Normal as well as clay and chalk soils and can be grown in full sun or semi shade. There is no problem with growing these plants both in inland, & exposed sites making them suitable for many garden situations.
This laurel hedge can be kept with reasonable ease within the height range of 1 – 4m depending on how much maintenance is preferred and with an average growth of 20-40cm per annum. Bright red new leaf banners and its everlasting wall of leaves provide aesthetic enjoyment through all seasons so that people never feel, in their habitation extending garden, visually bleak even through winter.
To achieve better coverage per unit of laurel space, we recommend covering 2-3 laurel plants per meter so that there will be a thick, even appearance which will cut privacy or winds. This hardy plant is designed as ornamental landscape hedge plant for use in places with a variety of climatic properties and with minimum care requirements .
